We recommend the Bosch 60 cm freestanding gas stove. It’s the best all-rounder, it’s not too expensive, looks cool, and will run for a very long time. Other than that we recommend Elba AEG, and smeg 60 cm all gas (gas oven and gas top). If you are on a budget then the cheaper brands Defy and Whirlpool are also good options. However, Bosch is probably going to be your best value for money.
The most expensive is not always the best
Dont think that picking the most expensive unit you see is automatically going to translate in better quality and longevity. Though it is mostly true we recommend:
- You get something that has sturdy legs or no legs as some models have really flimsy legs and bend or break very easily.
- You get something that has reasonably sturdy control knobs because that is how you are going to interface with your stove every day. Make sure they are of reasonable quality.
- You get something that has a good warranty and maybe get an extended warranty.
Choose a reputable brand
Choose a unit from a good brand as they are more likely to keep spares incase something breaks down the road, the brands we mentioned above are going to keep spares for a long time so if something did break at least you can get a replacement part. Some brands are here today and gone tomorrow, the same as alot of industry’s.
Brands we think are good:
- Bosch / Seimens
These are the brands that we think are good based on our experience working with them and installing them over the years. There are other brands out there, but we just don’t have that much experience with them to give a solid recommendation.
